Hello, I'm Jen Hassaj

* Physical Therapist * Yoga Instructor * Wellness in Clinical Practice * Holistic Care Consultant

From early on I knew I wanted to help people.  I have always been drawn to caring for the sickly or hurt animal, standing up for the weaker or disadvantaged individual and taking people 'under my wing' as they say until they get their feet on the ground.  This nurturing tendency is what drove me to pursue my degrees in Biology and in Physical Therapy; the beginning of my training as a health care professional.  Over my 18 years as an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, I have been able to further hone my professional skill set, knowledge and hands on experiences.  Through continuing education my therapeutic skills, capabilities and interests have been further developed into certifications and specialized trainings.

I have always enjoyed helping people resume their function, return to their previous activity level and find improved quality of life; but often felt that there was something missing.  I began to follow an inner desire to determine what that other piece was that I felt like I was missing.

For my own health and well being, I had been doing yoga for years; through practice and reflection I came to realize that deepening my knowledge of yoga could allow me to expand my offering to my clients.  Having a combination of not only the physical aspects of yoga, but also the more meaningful aspects of meditation and self-reflection for improved self-awareness feels more aligned with my personal values and what I want to provide for my patients.

So there I was, ready to stretch, grow and evolve personally; to be better professionally.  I sought out and completed my yoga teacher training; beginning a journey that I will be on for the rest of my life.  The deeper understanding and knowledge that had been presented through that training, and the numerous doors that are opened for self-growth opportunities are fantastic and enlightening.  Having the ability to combine those deeper and meaningful aspects with my practice; whereby allowing me to holistically help my patients in body, mind and spirit is what was missing from my true offering for you.
