MINDFULNESS MONDAY:

As we find ourselves in the middle of the holidays, life can be very busy and even overwhelming.

Moving through life, there are often situations that can feel overwhelming. This meditation will help you go into a simultaneous experience of feeling grounded, yet weightless.

A suggestion for the week:

• Come to a comfortable seated position, allowing your back to be erect with your hands open in your lap, palms up.

• Set a timer for at least 5 minutes and bring your awareness to your breath.

MINDFULNESS MONDAY:

Our mindfulness activity this week is all about hope.

A suggestion for the week:

• Come to a comfortable position sitting or lying down.

• Set a timer for at least 5 minutes and begin by focusing on your breathing and removing distractions from your thought.

• Now open your mind to the positive unfolding of life. Begin to cultivate a sense of hope, that even in the face of impossible odds, a favorable outcome is still possible.

MINDFULNESS MONDAY:

This week we are looking at our acceptance.

Self-acceptance is the gateway of genuine acceptance of others. Of course, we always want to improve, heal and grow, but we may never achieve perfection in every area. It can be very transformative to practice learning to love something that is “imperfect”.

• In your journal, or on a clean sheet of paper, take a few minutes to write using the following formula:

MINDFULNESS MONDAY:

Visualization uses our ‘inner eye’ to conceptualize something we would like to see or experience with our ‘outer eyes.” Today we will practice visualization meditation specifically for physical health and healing.

A suggestion for the week:

• Have a seat with your spine erect, with each vertebrae stacked one on top of the other.

• Rest comfortably sitting up with the balance of the bones holding the body up, allowing the muscles to relax.

• In your mind’s eye visualize your body healthy and strong.
