MINDFULNESS MONDAY


Happy Monday. This week we are going to look at building confidence. Many people have low self-esteem. Often this will manifest as a lack of confidence, even about activities in which they are highly skilled. This can, over time, lead to non-optimal results in our lives. When we focus on building up our self-confidence, we can improve the outcomes of our activities in business deals, work, relationships, friendships, etc. All of these aspects can be improved and enhanced with increased confidence.


A suggestion for the week:

· Begin by getting grounded by getting in touch with your body, your senses and the present moment.

· Close your eyes and imagine yourself standing in front of you, looking back at you.

· Bit by bit, create a new you in your imagination that has all of the characteristics that would give you incredible confidence. This could be changes in your appearance or in non-visual characteristics like a powerful voice, a brilliant mind, oozing charm or charisma and so forth. Imagine yourself with all of the characteristics and qualities that would give you the super-confidence you desire.

· Watch the image change before your eyes- make sure it is big, bold, powerful and bright.

· Imagine the feeling of confidence coursing through the veins of the imaginary you. Feel the rush of power, control and fearlessness that comes with this confidence. Notice how the imaginary you stands with a stance of great confidence and holds their head high.

· Next, when you are ready, walk around behind the imaginary image and step inside of it, become it. Feel yourself experiencing all of the sensations of having amazing confidence. Notice how your body changes, your stance may shift, your posture may improve, your gaze may subtly alter to express the magnitude of confidence in you.

· Now imagine that this new you is standing in front of a crowd of admirers that are cheering and clapping and swooning with adulation and devotion to you.

· Pay particular attention to where the positive feelings that you are having are located in your body. This is the center- they physical source point of your confidence. Feel into this point deeply with your body awareness.

· Continue alternating between visualization and the feelings of confidence in your body as long as you like and whenever you feel you need or want to.
