MINDFULNESS MONDAY

We tend to be our toughest critics. We hold ourselves to unrealistic standards of perfection and it is not uncommon to judge or criticize ourselves for one or numerous qualities of our person.

Today we are looking at speaking to ourselves with compassion, to slowly counteract all of the negative self-talk that we give ourselves. Hopefully this will allow us to be more content, confident and at peace with who we really are.

A suggestion for this week: This is a journaling exercise, have a journal/ paper and pen to complete this activity.

· Come to a comfortable seat in a quiet location away from distractions. Take a moment to reflect on one or two things that you judge yourself for, or dislike about yourself.

· In your reflecting time, notice how these perceived inadequacies make you feel. Also notice how easy it is to zero…

MINDFULNESS MONDAY

Good morning! This week I thought we would look at a good growth opportunity by becoming comfortable with our emotions. Some of us are naturally more adept in dealing with our emotions, this could be from our personalities, the environment we were raised in, or just our emotional maturity. For the rest of us though, strong emotions can be overwhelming or even frightening. Today we are going to perform a meditation allowing us to look at different emotions which can help us, over time, in being more comfortable with and responding appropriately to all of our emotions.

A suggestion for the week: Becoming comfortable with Emotions

· Focus on your breathing for 5 breath cycles to calm your mind and ground yourself in the present.

· Take a few m…

MINDFULNESS MONDAY

Hello, this week we are going to perform a meditation that involves problem solving.

Having an effective approach for problem solving is an essential tool that can be used in many aspects of your life. Often there are 2 barriers that hinder our ability with problem solving: 1) defining the problem too broadly and 2) thinking that there are no possible solutions. Today’s meditation will help us with these barriers and improve our ability with effective problem solving.

A suggestion for the week: Problem Solving Activity

· Come to a comfortable position with minimal distractions. You may want to have a pen and paper nearby to make note of your thoughts.

· Coose a problem in your life that you would like to address.

MINDFULNESS MONDAY

Hello, this week we are going to look at establishing a gratitude practice.

This simply entails being thankful for the good in our lives. When we focus on the positive, rather than the negative it helps us to see the cup of life as half full, rather than half empty. We are able to find satisfaction with what we have, though we still can strive for more.

A suggestion for the week:

· There are many ways that you can have a gratitude practice- the main aspect of to simply acknowledge something for which you are grateful.

· A well known practice is to begin a gratitude journal. Every day you write 3-5 things that you are grateful for. It doesn’t matter how simple or humble the entries may be. Just be honestly appreciative. If you don’t wish to journal, you can simply say your 3-5 …
