How Healthy Intentions was Born

For years, while working as a Physical Therapist, I have noticed patients wondering or even have had them ask me outright "What do I do now, since I'm finished here?"  They are wanting to continue, motivated to keep up their momentum but don’t feel comfortable going to a gym: they are intimidated there or just don't like them.  These same individuals also don't know how to get a well-rounded, full body, health and maintenance program on their own, or they simply don’t want to do it alone.  At the same time, there are numerous other people that want to experience something new, but under the guidance of a trained, healthcare professional for their own personal reasons.

 

So I have been brainstorming and dreaming about how to help these individuals…. when suddenly the Coronavirus pandemic happens, turning everyone's world up-side down.  A direct and serious health threat, that is also affecting people's ability to stay healthy.  With studios and gyms closing, people being told to stay home, stress is on the rise with minimal good and healthy ways to deal with it all.  

 

Then the light bulb went off…. I care about my patients, these individuals and the tens of thousands of others like them.  I genuinely want people to be healthy and happy, to know how to and be better able to take care of themselves and their loved ones.  I want them to feel confident in their ability to do their daily activities; to try something new that will give them stress release, more energy, better strength and flexibility, improved sleep, better body awareness, peace, improved balance, calm…..   I could go on and on but I think you get the drift. 

 

Well I decided to really get serious, in these serious times.  To put together a series of yoga based sequences that are therapeutic in nature, safe and specific to typical health conditions.  These range from broad category generalized concerns to some really specific conditions where you have to take certain precautions.   

    

So join me on this journey, continue your existing exercise or maintenance routine with a new twist; or maybe try something completely different, but under the guidance of a healthcare professional to expand your horizons, helping you to live a fuller life doing what you love.

My intention with the online (ad)venture is to reach people everywhere; in the comfort of their own homes.  To enable my customers to have an extensive and expanding library of safe, effective and attainable exercises and sequences at their fingertips 24/7.   For them to feel empowered, more knowledgeable, in better control, healthier, happier and able to feel like they are the best version of themselves.
